The Gift 2

This is a truly stunning piece; the portions of dark wood and pale parchment compliment each other beautifully, and the impression of light is wonderful.
I love how, instead of trying to smooth the imperfections of the wood, you've emphasised the history and emotional attachment the musician has to the instrument; it tells a story. I think that having the nicks and wear of the violin in the centre of the image is a brilliant idea, and the angle of the notes on the page and the way they almost point towards this damage on the curve of the instrument as if to direct the observer towards is very original.
The saturation of the wood is also wonderful, and I like how you've also managed to take the shot at such an angle that the picture looks almost haphazard and very natural. Brilliant piece.
